5 Ways to quickly boost your Google Reviews

by | Jan 15, 2021 | Uncategorized

Google makes up most of the search traffic on the web so it remains vital that you maintain your Google My Business account and showcase genuine customer reviews. Here are some tips to help direct your customers to leave a Google review

Post departure emails

This is one of the most effective ways to request a review from your customers. Providing you have the customer’s email from their booking/reservation/order, you can send them an email thanking them for visiting and asking if they wouldn’t mind leaving you a review on Google or TripAdvisor so they can help others find your business. It’s best to do this up to 24 hours after they depart so their visit is fresh in their mind.

Review cards

When paying for your service/product in-store, hand your customer a small business card sized review card with their receipt. This should contain a review short-link and a QR code so they can quickly submit a review with as few steps as possible. The reverse side of the card can also contain a bounce back voucher to get a discount on their next visit or cross-promote a similar service you provide.

Social media

If you have built up a following on social media, it is totally acceptable to ask your customers to leave you a review, it can also get a few potential leads to read some of your customer’s comments to further convince them of your fantastic service. It’s best to use an attractive image to grab their attention, rather than just text.

Link on website

It’s a very good idea to list customer reviews on your website, and there are several plugins and scripts that can automate this for you. Under this, you should include a link to leave a new review. You might not know that it is actually possible to generate a link from Google My Business that will redirect the customer to the review box on Google.

On-site print

Aside from handouts, it can also be rewarding to have other collateral like pull up banners, standing strut cards or table talkers pointing customers to leave a review right there and then. QR codes and short links are essential here as no one like to stand at reception typing a long web address while there is a queue behind them.
